Mr. Jardines is responsible for developing strategic direction, establishing policy and managing fiscal resources for open source exploitation for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). Prior to joining the ODNI, Mr. Jardines was the founder and president of Open Source Publishing, Inc., a privately held firm providing open source intelligence support to the public and private sectors. The firm was acquired by Radiance Technologies, Inc., where he served as the director of the Radiance Open Source Intelligence Division. Mr. Jardines served in military intelligence assignments overseas and in the United States in both the active Army and the Army Reserve. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a dual degree in political science and Latin American studies. He received a Master of Arts degree in international studies from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science degree from the Joint Military Intelligence College.  "Mario Profaca is the father of Open Source Intelligence, said Honorable Steve Edwards, MBE, from New Scotland Yard, at International IOP'06 Conference, January 10 - 16, 2006, Washington D.C. Stephen Edwards has nearly 30 years experience in law enforcement and has spent the last 10 years working with the Internet. His main background is in Criminal Intelligence and has worked in the Intelligence Directorate at New Scotland Yard and also on the Commissioner's private staff. In 1998 he was awarded the Golden Candle Award for innovation in intelligence gathering techniques and in 2004 was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty the Queen, for services to police. He has been with the National Hi-Tech Crime Unit for two years and before moving to the Industry Liaison worked as a Tactical and Technical Consultant in the unit.
