Costa Rica Ex-President
under House Arrest Former Costa Rican President Miguel Angel Rodriguez may leave prison and remain under house arrest while awaiting trial on corruption charges, a judge ruled 14 Mar 05. Rodriguez's lawyers had argued the former leader's health was poor and likely to grow worse in prison.
As a condition of house arrest, Rodriguez will have to post a $430,000 bond, said Eduardo Araya, one of the former president's lawyers. (Radio Nacional, 15 Mar 15, 2005)
