Remote Printing WWW Interface |

There are two ways to use the Remote Printing service, and the WWW form (below) is one of them. The more versatile way involves sending email to a correctly formatted e-mail address (the WWW page does it all transparently), and allows you to include files which contain much more formatting than just the plain ASCII text you can send here. INTRODUCTION: An experiment started in June 1993 now makes it possible to send free faxes to many different parts of the world through internet e-mail. The recipient name and faxnumber is converted into an e-mail address within the remote printing domain, tpc.int, and the e-mail message is routed via the internet to a computer near the destination. This, in turn, converts the e-mail message to a fax and transmits it through the local telephone network to the recipient's fax machine. Coverage is still somewhat limited, but is rapidly expanding. ADDRESS FORMAT:remote-printer.USER@FAXNUMBER.iddd.tpc.int USER: ![]() ![]() ![]() FAXNUMBER: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() EXAMPLE: Sending an e-mail to: remote-printer.Mario_Profaca/Journalist@38513843546.iddd.tpc.int will send a fax to the Croatia number 1-3843-546 (the extra '385' at the beginning is the required country code for the Republic of Croatia) with a coversheet output like this:
